What Could the HEADACHE Act Change? Lessons from One Year of Advocacy
From the AHDA website:
Virtual Lunch and learn
September 28, 2026 12PM – 1PM EDT
One year after the HEADACHE Act was introduced in Congress, this Lunch & Learn will take a closer look at what the legislation could mean for people living with migraine and other headache disorders, and why a coordinated national strategy matters.
Presented in partnership with the American Headache Society, the discussion will explore the challenges the HEADACHE Act was designed to address, what its proposed National Headache Disorders Initiative and federal coordination could make possible, and what advocates have learned over the past year working to build support for the bill.
We will also look to another disease community for perspective. A representative from the Alzheimer’s Association will discuss how the National Alzheimer’s Project Act helped transform the federal response to Alzheimer’s disease and what the headache community can learn from that experience.
Together, we’ll reflect on one year of advocacy, examine what meaningful federal coordination can accomplish, and discuss what comes next for the HEADACHE Act and the migraine and headache community.
